Die diesjährige CSD-Parade der queer Referate Graz findet am 22.06. statt!!!
Der CSD schafft Sichtbarkeit für die LGBTIQA*+-Community in der Gesellschaft und steht für das Einfordern von Gleichstellung und Widerstand gegen jegliche Diskriminierung!!!

Die vorläufige Route ist:
Treffpunkt bei der Oper ab 12:00, Start um 13:00 – Jakominiplatz – Hauptplatz – Keplerbrücke – Lendplatz – Ende am Volksgarten

Schnappt euch eure Freund*innen, solidarisiert euch und unterstützt gleiche Rechte für alle Menschen!

Warum auf die Straße gehen?

Seinen Ursprung nahm der Christopher Street Day, kurz CSD, 1969, zu einer Zeit, in der lesbische, schwule, bisexuelle, transgender, inter*geschlechtliche, asexuelle und queere Menschen gesellschaftlich und vom Staat rechtlich gestützt ausgegrenzt wurden.
Zur Eskalation kam es in der Nacht vom 27. auf den 28. Juni 1969 in New York, wo nach willkürlichen Polizeirazzien in Lokalen mit homosexuellem und transgender Zielpublikum (z.B. Stonewall Inn, daher auch Stonewall Riots) in der Christopher Street mehr als 2000 Menschen auf die Straße gingen. Gemeinsam wurde gegen die Diskriminierung und Unterdrückung von Andersliebenden und für deren Gleichberechtigung gekämpft.
Diese Proteste legten den Grundstein für den ersten Christopher Street Day (CSD) und für friedliche Protestmärsche, die heute weltweit und jährlich stattfinden.

The queer Department will be organizing the Christopher Street Day Parade in Graz this year once again, which will take place on June 22nd. The CSD makes the LGBTQIA+-Community visible as a community that sticks together and stands up for equality, withstanding everyday discrimination that many of us have to deal with.
So pack your friends and support equal rights!

Why take it to the streets?

The Christopher Street Day has its origin in the 1969 Stonewall riots, at a time when LGBTIQA* people were a marginalized group in society, a state which was sanctioned, officially and unofficially by the government in power. An escalation happened during the night of June 27 to June 28, 1969 in New York. Following the police raids, people went out on the streets, and together fought against discrimination and oppression and for their equal rights. These protests paved the way for the first Christopher Street Day (CSD) and the subsequent peaceful protest marches that take place every year around the world.
